National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2021

Pensacola, Fla. (October 1, 2021) – National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2021 centers on the common theme: “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion.” The theme reflects the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Held annually, NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. However, a lot of progress occurs at a grassroots level, and all employers are encouraged to participate in NDEAM celebrations. Global Connections to Employment (GCE) works to remove employment barriers for individuals with disabilities including Veterans. Training and numerous job opportunities are available in a variety of services including: custodial and food services, IT services, training, business services, facilities maintenance, health care environmental services and employment and support services.
