Pensacola, Fla. (February 21, 2020) – Lakeview Center is pleased to announce that renovations to The Meridian at Lakeview Center are completed.  The Meridian provides behavioral health services to children who have experienced trauma and may be coping with substance use and/or mental health disorders.

Enhancements complement a safe and inviting space to participate in the treatment experience. Improvements include new vinyl wood plank flooring, soothing paint color throughout the building, a new meal serving line and new furniture in all common areas and bedrooms.

“These generous updates allow for our youth to be served in an environment where they feel comfortable and can learn the coping skills for working through trauma,” said Scott Smales, director. “We are grateful to the Baptist Health Care Foundation for raising the funds to help us make these improvements, and we are excited to give tours to our community should they be interested.”

The Meridian is one of six Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Programs (SIPP) in the state of Florida. The next closest facility is located in Jacksonville, FL. An expert team provides mental health treatment and substance abuse services to children between the ages of 7 and 17. Currently, The Meridian can accommodate 24 children.
