Lakeview Affiliate Secures Prestigious Accreditation for 2-1-1 Program

Pensacola, Fla. (February 21, 2022) – Chautauqua Healthcare Services’ Panhandle 2-1-1 program is among a select group to be accredited by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS), in recognition of the quality of the information and referral service it provides to the Okaloosa and Walton County community.

Panhandle 2-1-1 has demonstrated excellence in the information and referral services field by successfully completing a detailed professional accreditation process administered by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS).

AIRS is an international nonprofit professional association with a membership of more than 1,200 public and private organizations that bring people and services together through information and referral (I&R). I&R organizations create and maintain databases of agencies and programs that offer services, and disseminate that information through a variety of channels to individuals and communities.

The AIRS Accreditation Program is a multi-phase process that assesses more than 200 distinct components of an I&R service’s operation and includes an expert review of the agency’s resource database, a “secret shopper” monitoring of service delivery, and culminates in a detailed virtual review.

Chautauqua Healthcare Services’ Panhandle 2-1-1 program started in 2012 to provide I&R services to Okaloosa and Walton counties and is partially funded by Northwest Florida Health Network. Along with human services available in the area, such as food banks, rental and utility assistance, and substance abuse rehabilitation information, 2-1-1 is also an important information resource during times of emergency and disaster. Residents and visitors can dial 2-1-1 any time to reach this 24-hour service.

Panhandle 2-1-1 joins more than 140 organizations in the United States and Canada to have successfully attained AIRS Accreditation.
