Our specialized caregivers provide individualized treatment plans with the shared goal of helping you progress to a less restrictive community setting and greater levels of responsibility and independence.

Residential care for mental health

Lakeview Villas

Lakeview Villas provide the least restrictive, longer-term, residential setting on our main campus. The 20-unit apartment building is a place where residents can maintain independent households and receive case management to help them connect with local resources and become more independent.

Lakeview Lodges

Lakeview Lodges is a 16-bed therapeutic and supportive residential setting where staff members are available 24 hours a day. Residents are free to come and go, but live within a good structure for managing mental illness. Lakeview Lodges is a good option for someone who has been released from an inpatient (hospital) setting and needs additional support.

Hernandez House and Lakeview Place

Hernandez House and Lakeview Place are level 4 residential facilities meant to serve as transitional homes where residents work with a caring team to develop independent living skills, coping skills, symptom management, budgeting and other psychosocial rehabilitation skills. Residents work toward improving independent living skills so that they can eventually function well in the community.

Walton Cottage

This mental health program is a level II residential facility for men and women that provides a structured group treatment setting with 24/7 supervision. Residents include those with significant deficits in independent living skills who need extensive supervision, support and assistance, as well as individuals with a limited capacity for independent living and who require frequent supervision, support and assistance.

The person must be age 18 or older and have a diagnosed mental illness. Individuals also must be able to walk and be able to participate in a treatment program free of any major medical conditions. Individuals must not exhibit chronic inappropriate behavior, nor behavior that is harmful to themselves or others. With staff supervision, individuals must be able to:

  • Self-administer medication
  • Maintain personal hygiene and grooming
  • Initiate and participate in social interaction
  • Perform assigned household chores

Walton Lodge

This is a level III residential mental health and substance misuse program for men and women who are age 18 or older. Residents have a substance use disorder and/or a co-occurring mental health disorder with cognitive functioning that’s been severely impaired by chronic use of substances, causing them to require extended care. Treatment is focused on improving cognition and daily living activities, socialization and skills to restore and maintain independent living. Individuals will receive:

  • Individual counseling
  • Group counseling
  • Substance-related/recovery-oriented education
  • Life skills training
  • Expressive therapies
  • Mental health services

Residential care for substance misuse

Pensacola

Road to Recovery is a 46-bed residential substance misuse treatment program located on our downtown Pensacola campus. Our specialized team provides a comprehensive and intensive level of treatment, actively engaging with residents to address addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. Treatment is structured to serve those who need a safe and stable living environment where they can develop sufficient recovery skills for living in the general community.

Walton County

Lakeview Center of Walton County offers two residential programs for substance misuse:

  • Women and Children’s Center residential treatment. Women who are pregnant or postpartum can bring their infant with them into the program, keeping mom and baby together so moms can get the care they need while babies benefit from staying with their mothers.
  • Residential treatment for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. For instance, scroll up to read about Walton Lodge. Clients in such programs must have cognitive functioning impaired by chronic substance abuse.

Residential care for children

Meridian

Meridian is a statewide inpatient psychiatric program that helps children with significant emotional and behavioral challenges. The residential setting and treatments focus on 24-hour supervision and intensive psychiatric treatment. Medicaid and/or Medicaid eligible children who have a serious emotional disturbance that requires treatment in a residential treatment center. The Meridian serves male and female children and adolescents between the ages of 7 and 17. The team utilizes a multi-disciplinary treatment approach with a focus on psychotherapeutic intervention in a structured, community living environment with 24-hour supervision. The Meridian also provides intervention services for children and adolescents who are at risk for substance misuse and related-problem treatment.

A New Dawn

A New Dawn is an eight-bed therapeutic environment for foster care youth ages 10 to 17. Youth are placed in the program through the child welfare system placement team. The goal is to assist with short-term placement needs until an appropriate setting can be found. These youth may have a moderate emotional or behavioral condition. In-depth assessments are provided and a support plan to assist with the next level of care or placement. A New Dawn is an opportunity to works toward learning a more appropriate way to maintain these youth in the community.

Arcadia Place

Arcadia Place is a foster care group home that serves female adolescents aged 13 to 17 who are experiencing impairment related to mental health and/or substance use issues. The estimated length of stay is six months. Services include assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, education and consultation, behavior management, therapy, medication management, and recreational activities. The goal at Arcadia Place is to support the recovery, health or well-being of the children and families served. The goal is to reduce symptoms, to build resilience, and to restore or improve functioning. Services are provided by referral.

Cabot Heights

Cabot Heights is a foster care group home that provides transitional or long-term foster care for boys ages 13 to 17 who have moderate to severe emotional/behavioral issues. We help these youth prepare for living in a family setting or in an independent environment. These young clients have access to a team that encourages their strengths and abilities. Our team places an emphasis on helping them to achieve goals set by the child welfare team and the court as set by their family case plans.
