Labor and Delivery
The Labor and Delivery unit offers six, private, state-of-the-art suites in which you may labor, deliver and recover after the birth of your baby. Two of our suites have Jacuzzi tubs for mothers who enjoy the relaxing effects of water. Other suites have walk-in showers with shower massage. Each room has a hide-a-bed for the support person to rest.

An Experience Tailored to You
We are committed to creating a birthing experience tailored to your needs and wishes. We do this by taking your indicated birth preferences paired with the latest safety standards to create an environment that helps you relax and enjoy the experience of childbirth. You are welcome to bring iPods, CD players, laptops and other comforts of home. Free Wi-Fi is provided through Baptist Hospital. Included in the back of this folder you will find a birth preference list to discuss with your physician. Please bring the form filled out and present to your nurse upon arrival at Labor and Delivery.

Friends and family may attend the birth. For the best birth environment, however, it’s best to limit visitors to those who understand how to support the laboring woman. All visitors should be told in advance that certain medical situations could require that everyone but the labor partner leave the room. Children should be limited to siblings only, and young children must have an adult tending to their special needs.

The arrival of your baby is an amazing event. Each birth is attended by a nurse who will examine your baby at your bedside. If your newborn is doing well, you will have as long as you like to get acquainted with your baby.

Newborn Nursery
When your baby arrives, our staff and trained specialist provide you and your baby a safe environment as your baby begins to enjoy the first moments of life. Our nursery focuses on enhancing and stimulating the health of your baby from routine to more complex births such as advanced maternal age and twins.

Our nursery provides a comfortable, secure environment where our expert, compassionate nursing staff can assess and care for your baby’s health care needs. Security for you and the newest member of your family is our highest concern. A state-of-the-art security system is used to ensure your baby’s safety and your peace of mind.

Mother Baby Care
Intense joy and relief come with the safe delivery of your child. After giving birth, it is time for you and your family to settle in for some rest and pampering. During your postpartum stay, you will be able to relax and get to know your baby in the comfort and security of your beautiful, spacious private room located on our all-women’s nursing unit. A sofa-bed is provided for a family member to stay with mom and the baby. You’ll be surprised at how much our rooms feel like home.
