Day Treatment (Children)

When children are challenged by severe emotional disabilities and can’t function in their neighborhood schools, Lakeview Center’s School Day Support is a resource that can help. Our experts provide the appropriate level of care that’s needed when the Escambia County School District identifies and refers children who need extra support.

Our range of services is designed to maximize their strengths, reduce stressors, and reduce symptoms and functional deficits that stem from mental health and/or substance-related disorders. Children attend our classes provided by the Escambia County School District at our main Lakeview Center campus. School Day School provides students with counseling and other therapeutic services including problem-solving, coping skills, risk assessment, stress management, substance abuse intervention and help with controlling symptoms.

Our program philosophy is based on the Recovery Model/CCISC (Comprehensive, Continuous, Integrated System of Care). We collaborate with the school district to provide Positive Behavior Supports which is a strength-based incentive program for both the students and staff.

Each student’s interventions are individualized based on their mental health diagnosis, risk and protective factors, behavior in the school setting, and readiness for change. To learn more about our program call 850.469.3856 or 850.469.3594.
